Who We Are

Liberty Baptist Church led by Pastor Caleb Presnell, is a church that will enrich your life through the teaching of God’s Word. Whether you are just curious about church and God or you are a committed follower of Jesus Christ, you are welcome to join us here at Liberty!

We are proud to be part of Toledo’s history for over seventy years. Our church has grown with the community in which we live. We started in a small building and now God has given us eleven beautiful acres and a great building to serve Him.

We are privileged to have a vibrant children’s ministry, a youth ministry that serves God and the community, a church family that truly cares about each other as well as a Pastor that preaches the clear principles of God’s Word.

We are truly blessed to have a great heritage and believe the best is yet to come!

“This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” Isaiah 54:17

Our Vision and Beliefs

Our Vision

We seek to Learn the Bible, Live for Christ, and Love People

Scriptures

The Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We believe God has preserved His Word in the King James Version for English-speaking people. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)

Trinity

God is a Person, eternally existing as a trinity in unity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - three Persons, yet one God. (I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; I John 5:7)

Sin

Man was created in God's image, but fell due to sin, bringing physical and spiritual death, or eternal separation from God. Now, all mankind exists as a fallen race with an inherited sinful nature that causes us to be at enmity with God. (Genesis 2:16-17; Romans 3:10-23; 6:23)

Virgin Birth

Jesus Christ was born in a miraculous manner of the Holy Ghost and of the virgin Mary. He is God the Son and at the same time is the Son of God. (Matthew 1:23, Isaiah 7:14, Hebrews 1:8)

Substitutionary Death & Resurrection

Jesus lived a sinless life and died on the cross for the sins of the world. He arose from the grave on the third day and later ascended into heaven where He now sits on the right hand of God, the Father. (I Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9)

Salvation

The salvation of the sinner is obtainable because of the grace of God. It is received by simple faith in the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ. It is a free gift offered by God to every individual. It cannot be earned, only received. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16)

Eternal Security

It is the power of God that keeps men eternally secure. Man cannot gain salvation by his works, neither can he lose it because of his works. (II Timothy 1:12; John 10:28)

The Church

The church is a local group of baptized believers who are called to worship God, encourage one another, and evangelize the world (Hebrew 10: 25; Matthew 28:19-20). The local church is responsible to observe two ordinances: baptism and the Lord's Supper. (Romans 6:4-5, Acts 2:41, 1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Mark 14:22-26)

The Last Days

The believer should be active in serving Christ during these last days, all the while anticipating the imminent, pre- millennial return of Christ for His church. At that time, the dead in Christ shall be raised in glorified bodies, and the living in Christ shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. This will occur before the seven-year tribulation period begins. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44; Philippians 3:20-21)
